What To Do With Kids

If you have kids, we have things to do.

Corny Fall Fun September 21, 2010

Thursday is the first day of fall, and I’ve been looking forward to it for months. We had such a miserably hot summer that these cool, crisp mornings are a welcomed relief. The first activity on my calendar is to visit  Kyker Family Farms Corn Maze that opens this week on September 24th and remains open until October 30th. Visit an authentic farm adventure where you can go on a scavenger hunt in a 5 acre corn maze, wander through the meadow maze or let your little ones try out our “Tater Tot” maze. Then crawl through the straw crawl, pick your own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch and take a hayride on our working family farm. After that you can try  your hand at Corn Hole, a game for the entire family or zoom down one of two tunnel slides. Later, dare to enter “The Trail”, their haunted adventure. Whatever you decide to do, you are certain to have a good time at the Kyker Farms Corn Maze! Be sure and check out their webpage for all sorts of cute pictures.  And besides the fact that it will be so much fun, support your local farms and farmers. There is a lot of satisfaction picking a pumpkin out of a pumpkin patch instead of from a grocery bin.

The hours for the Mazes/Pumpkin Patch Thurs 4pm-dark, Friday 4pm-dark, Saturday 10am –dark. Starting October 8th visit the Haunted Trail on Friday or Saturday from dark -10pm.

Prices for admission to all three Corn, Meadow, and Tater Tot Mazes are: ages 3-5 $5.00,  6+ $7.00. The hayride and pumpkin patch cost an additional $5.00 for all ages and the Haunted Trail  is $10.00 for all ages.
