We Give Books

We give books is a great free site for books. It is a partnership with Penguin publishing. The books are current recognizable works and they change often.  Every time  you read a book, they donate a book to children around the world. They are close to donating a million books since April of 2010. If you go to http://www.wegivebooks.org/books you can read a free book at your child’s age level. This is perfect for those rainy days or I’m bored moments. I haven’t tried this site on a mobile device or e-reader.  Let me know if it works on Kindle or iPad.

This is from their website:

“We Give Books is a new digital initiative that enables anyone with access to the Internet to put books in the hands of children who don’t have them, simply by reading online.

We Give Books combines the joy of reading with the power of helping others, providing a platform for caregivers and educators to inspire children to become lifelong readers and lifelong givers.

We Give Books also helps some of the world’s best, most inspiring, literacy organizations by spreading the word about their great work and by providing books to the young people these organizations support.”

This time of year, the Little Ponderosa Zoo/Rescue has the cutest baby animals. Add that to your spring to-do list.
