Mark your calendars!

From the TWRA’s website:  Every year on the second Saturday in June the TWRA allows all residents and non-residents to fish without a license. Children that are 15 years of age or younger may fish without a license for the entire week starting on Free Fishing Day and continuing through the following Friday. Children younger than 13 may fish without a license at any time of the year. The TWRA sponsors many Kids Free Fishing Day events and stocks thousand of pounds of catfish to help make the events quality experiences for young anglers.

Here in Knox County the event is at The Cove off Northshore. Click here for other counties.

Take your kids (for free) to see “Back To The Future” at the historic Tennessee Theatre. Did I mention it is free, and in this beautiful venue? Details below:

The Tennessee Theatre invites the community to a First Friday open house and free movie screening of “Back to the Future” on June 6! The theater will hold its quarterly First Friday open house with backstage tours and organ music on the Mighty Wurlitzer from 5-7 p.m. Backstage tours of the historic theater will be offered at 5:15, 5:45 and 6:15 p.m. Free popcorn and soda will be provided during the movie screening. A new digital projector donated by Regal Entertainment Group will be dedicated and the free movie screening will begin at 7 p.m. “Back to the Future,” the classic film starring Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, centers on a time travel DeLorean that takes average American teenager McFly back in time from 1985 to the 1955. A major goal of the nonprofit theater is to provide regular public access to the venue as a cultural asset belonging to the community. Several times a year, the Tennessee Theatre opens its doors for a free First Friday event for anyone in the community to enjoy the historic facility. This is not a ticketed event.
