Hidden back behind Western Plaza on Kingston Pike, the Ice Chalet is a Knoxville treasure. It may not be the newest skating rink, but it is still a great place to skate. They offer an introduction to skating class monthly. You don’t have to wait until August or January to begin lessons. The introduction class is four, 30 minute lessons for $58 including skate rental.

The Ice Chalet has public skating sessions most days. Click here for the calendar.  The cost for a session is $5.50 if you have your own skates. Skate rental is $3.50. I noticed on Friday nights and Sunday afternoon, they offer a free introduction to skating class. This is the perfect time to introduce your little one to ice skating and then continue with lessons if they have interest.

The Ice Chalet also has curling, hockey and birthday parties. That is always great to remember when you are desperate for a site. Find out about their parties here.
