We are one of those bird-feeding families. When it snowed, we saw lots of great birds at our feeder. This feeder has thistle, and we had lots of Gold Finch show up and eat. Our other feeder had plain bird seed, and we had lots of Mourning Doves, Cardinals, Blue Jays, various Woodpeckers and Towhees.
This kid-made bird feeder is perfect because it doesn’t use peanut butter. With all the allergies to nuts, I try to look for things that don’t include them to post for general public. This recipe from alphamom.com uses gelatin. Of course heart cookie cutters are great this time of year, but if you don’t have a heart-shaped cutter any shape will do.
